HOW TO INSTALL SOD BLOCKS
Sod is a fantastic landscaping material that takes all the guesswork – and stress – out of growing grass. Pre-grown, low-maintenance, and versatile, it is your one-product solution for an instant lush, green outdoor makeover. For the best results, follow these installation steps:
1. CLEAR THE AREA
Start by removing any old grass, weeds, or debris from the area where you’ll be laying the new sod.
2. PREPARE THE SOIL
Loosen the top three inches of the soil to create a welcoming environment for the sod roots. For maximum nutrients and drainage, use our specially blended
compost or topsoil to enhance your soil.
3. LAY THE SOD BLOCKS
For laying sod blocks next to each other, follow a staggered pattern, gently pressing the edges together, then stretching lightly to prevent gaps. Carefully pat each piece down to remove any air pockets over the soil. If you need to trim the block, use a utility or linoleum knife for the cleanest cut.
4. WATER RIGHT AWAY
Immediately after laying the sod, water it generously for 30 to 60 minutes to hydrate both the new lawn and the soil underneath deeply. Otherwise, the dry soil will draw moisture from the sod, causing it to dry out and turn brown.
